Reflection of Myself in SAAWARIYA

There's a dream every man would like to see getting realised in his life-love a very special and beautiful girl even though he wakes up and finds her non-existent, he still searches for her. This 120 minutes of Sanjay Bhansali's SAAWARIYA will make yo search for that beautiful one and when you realise that you almost got her, she will slip away from you.

As a story I don't think SAAWARIYA has much to tell people; one might just ask ok Sonam Kappor (Sakeena) got her lady love Salman Khan (Iman) who leaves her and than suddenly comes on an EID and says "God is still creating you". No logic!

Acting wise, Ranbir Kapoor impresses; I am so happy to such natural acting from a newcomer. He is young, vibrant, confident and above all he is a charmer. He profuses a sense of charm in his movements, dialogue delivery. This guy bared a lot in the movie ( so what if Dimple Kapadia bared a lot in 70's with his dad Rishi Kapoor in BOBBY). Ranbir's character had shades of Raj Kapoor's 420 and Ajay Devgan's character of Hum dil de chuke sanam.

Ranbir has a steamy body, dances well and his emotions such as the one in which he says to Rani I love you is excellent. He can have a great career if he becomes the young lover boy of this country! bTW i hit upon a girl in the theatres and instead of saying Sorry, she said "Oh! Ranbir's back". Now, you know how impactful is Ranbir Kapoor!

Sanjay Bhansali has given both Ranbir and Sonam equal share of screen but Sonam to me needs to work a lil on dancing skills. Her character is that of a Muslim Girl Sakena and while she is waiting for the man whom she loved she doesn't mind with a smile. Sonam acts well, has that grace which I witnessed in Madhuri Dixit. A little skiny but that;s good.

Rani Mukheerjee seems to be the female version of Aaamir Khan. Her role as Gulabi, a call girl is so breathtaking natural that for a while you might just wonder it's real. Salman does what he should do-- acts with a penchant of attitude. Sometimes I wonder if he's speaking Hindi in English.

Sanjay's Bhansali cinematography is speachless and contuning with the tradition of DEVDAS and BLACK, the movie shot in R.K.Studio, Filmcity, Filmistan and Mehboob Studio had such sets that you have to see in the theatres to believe.

To cut it short and crisp, the songs are a huge hit..the movie leaves me a mark with Ranbir Kapoor but it doesn't stand a very good chance of competiting with OM SHANTI OM. But having said that both are diffrent type of movies. Farah Khan has made another masala movie with SRK, so if you wanna watch something different you watch SAAWARIYA.

I give it a 3 star out of 5. Go and watch in this DIWALI and do clasp your lover's hand. You will enjoy the touch so long you are watching the movie.

JAB WE MET

When you have completed 26 seasons in life, you ought to see different complexions of life especially in the "road to love". Few of them have been due to the evergreen world of Bollywood, and thanks to it, we got to here and there find a little more freshness. Which is why I am penning this review.

To me, Imtiaz Ali has given a new blend to the ever-repeated saga of Bollywood romance. JAB WE MET is not something that we haven’t seen or come across in life; it has shades of PYAR TO HONA HI THA, DDLJ, and various other Bollywood biggies- but what sets it apart than?

I would say the characters of Kareena and Shahid and wonderful screenplay. As, if Imtiaz knew where, when and which frames are be exactly inserted. So, it says a lot about the research on the project.

I am not narrating the story here; it’s Shahid who has the duty of safely dropping Kareena back home to Bhatinda for everything except love. Kareena bubbly and effervescent, doesn’t mince words and could be heard saying “main apni favorite hoon’ has a boyfriend Tarun Arora.

During this adventure to Bhatinda, Shahid’s life changes and he develops a soft corner for Kareena while Kareena’s life changes too. What happens finally is something you got to pay some 180 bucks and watch.

Shahid and Kareena had appeared before in FIDA, and fans were disappointed to find their chemistry cold. It becomes tough in two accounts for when we have a competitor like John-Bipasha scoring hits as couple, and you obviously know that your onscreen chemistry is somehow not better as your off-screen chemistry. Here, Kareena and Shahid both performed exceptionally well.

To me Kareena has always been a little overacted actress, and so if you find her a little more overacting, just ignore it. It’s much better than MAIN PREM KI DIWANI HOON. She was good in her dialogue delivery and very natural.

A scene which stands out is when she pushes Shahid to jump to the water. I found it so natural and spontaneous.

Shahid has a mixed bag of fortune in Bollywood; he started with a bang in ISHQ VISHK and than a couple of semi-flops. The reason is not that he is a one-time show, but he hasn’t chosen roles that could justice to his character.

Can you tell me what was he doing in DEEWANE HUE PAGAL? Similar lines of Tusshar Kapoor, Shahid struggles to make a movie run on his own. It is than he needs someone to support him.

JAB WE MET is such a refreshing change for Shahid and his fans. Not only he essays the character well, he shows a great deal of maturity too under that boyish charm.

Shahid is an excellent dancer and Pritam Chakraborty’s music goes well with Shahid and Kareena.

All said and done, will this movie work? It should run for two mainly reasons- I don’t believe cheap publicity works, but in India when we see a couple coming to a coffee show holding hands together and cajoling each other, and the next time they break up- the fans would love to pay to watch them.

I was observing Shahid and Karenna’s lip kiss together and I found to be very natural and spontaneous. They made a good pair. The second reason is Bollywood hasn’t seen a real romantic love journey for sometimes now.

The last if I remember was DIL CHAHTA HAI. This movie has freshness and dealt very differently. Also, the timing of the movie was perfect. With biggies like OM SHANTI OM and SAAWARIYA releasing during Diwali, JAB WE MET should be in a firm position. I see a good future of this movie. Shan has again sung something similar in the lines of TANHA dil.

I give it a 4 star out of 5 only for its spontaneity, freshness and Shahid-Kareena. Go watch it!

HOW TO MAKE THE FIRST MOVE

[This is an work of 26 year old brain's imagination; readers are advised to read it and apply it on their own merits and not blind foldely trust it. In a nutshell: take it just a work of imagination]

Sometimes a single difference in Chromosmes can build up a relationship, and I feel she understands that. The past few months have been quite hectic for me workwise and she added more to it. I met her through a social-network site and immediately clicked. I was trying to woo her for two reasons since she shares her name with my class teacher and she comes from my fav place: Shillong.

It didn’t take much time for me to start converse, because I guess I was at my wits best trying to put poetry in motion. Guys! now, here is the real tricky part- something that you need to understand when you make the all important first move. Respect-Yes, Respect her tremendously. She is someone you are expecting to date and than if things click, go ahead and have a married life.

But how many of us do that? We guys are so impatient to make the first move that all we need is the contact information on the first day and a date on the second day. Well, it may happen if you are a Tom Cruise or a Hrithik but for a medicore guy like me (most of us) we need to make our move.

Take a look into her profiles and read it- yes, just don’t look into her snaps and album. We all agree that looks count at the first notice- obviously, 80 % scraps comes from that single look, but after that what? You just can’t keep on complimenting on her looks. This can result in two ways-either she will make you a puppet or think you are an a********* (this still is a family-oriented blog).

I chose to make a move on her after I were sure that she would give a feedback to my scraps. Now, guys! here’s a funda: if you don’t receive a scrap from a female, try to go through the profile and understand has she been ignoring you? If she has done it, accept it gracefully. Don’t panick and most important don’t be frustrated! There are lot of girls out there..someone is there waiting; so go on.

After a few scraps with her, there came a point when I wished to take the lead-when I say a lead, I meant I wanted to go ahead and talk to her over the phone. Now, guys this is another thing you wish to know. How can you get a girl cell no.? you need to understand that from her scraps- if her scraps doesn’t read more than 1 line-no chances of you making that move than- it will take some more time-maybe weeks, months or maybe years  But, if its flowing nicely as with my Shillong mate, than you gotta take a risk.

2 things can happen here- she can backfire thinking that you are a spirit of Lucifer or she will promptly respond. So how will respond and approach? I sense this to much intuition and striking upon a line. So create a situation and than ask her. If she understands it, she will give you her cellno as my shillong dear did. Well, if she doesn’t understand, I won’t bother even to call upon her. Somehow, I prefer a bit of intelligence- it turns me on sharply than a REVLON coated lips.

We spoke over the phone and here’s something that you need to learn. Most of the guys give up conversing. Remember: it’s where it all starts. She needs to know if you can strike a conversation. Well what should I speak on? Listen, don’t start off telling and banter how good you are in this and that? We all have a quality that God has given. Work on it.

Strike a conversation in which both of you have mutual interests- if there’s none, well alarm bell rings! To be on safe side, push the ball on her side and than she will talk and cash it on. Once in conversation, cash it in.

if she is interested, (remember she is otherwise 95 % of girls wouldn’t give their nos to strangers) relax! Don’t husp up and try to create a larger than life character. With her I always tried to be natural and somewhere down the lane she respected it.

Alright, so after few months of calls, its natural you wish to meet her. Note: don’t have high expectations- it fails miserably. Girls: if you are looking for a flinge, tell him directly and if you are looking for committed relantionship take some time off.

When you wish to meet her , drop a line suggesting her. Don’t say “I want to meet you”. This I is dangerous-what if she isn’t interested to meet you. Yes, conversing over phone is a thing different from meeting up an individual. Simple who knows what kinda element you are? Prefarbly, you might be someone cooking up the whole picture. So she may try to play it safe and that’s where the TRUST factor comes into picture. If she says no to meet immediately, respect that decision.

If a guy has foul intentions, he will back out immediately while the one who really is interested will be there. Girls need to understand that thing.

Well I don’t know for sure what fate has stored for me and my Shillong girl, but eventually as time progresses and flowers bloom there will be lot of trust and commitment between them. If it doesn't progress also, all we know is a lot of memories that we can share, shan't we sweets? am I incorrect?

I am not sure if they will be life-partners but definitely they have sealed a bond of mutual trust and both of them are really proud of it.

And to conclude, guys! somewhere in the world, someone will be there. You just need to find out that person and trust me when you do that, the heart would immediately pause a beating and ask, “care to reflect your smile in my list?”

Cheers guys and all the best for your loved ones and remember always respect a women. 9 out of 10, chances are you will succeed!

Smiles

A smile perhaps is the best thing that happen to an individual when he is down, acts as an antidote to many of the distressing moments. And to take the ordeal of jotting down something but finally, I wish to pen down my experiences; Trust me! it is the most challenging thing to talk about smiles of a woman after spending innumerable nights on thinking and interviewing guys, I have finally come up with this. There have been guys writing to me asking me to suggest them about dating tips; please be patient.I will be shortly coming up with a dating article. In the meantime, enjoy this article in viewing smiles of woman.

Presenting, the best of the smiles in random order: She is someone I fell in awe from the first day, amazing radiant smile..

It says smile tell a lot about a person; what's the person mentality, how they cope things and wat degree exactly are they going to converse with. Being a 26 years old and not having exactly the best of things to do is a sick thing.

I was in twilight when I heard someone saying "why don't you talk about the smiles of Indian ladies?" I said hmm ahhh eee..well the expressions never seem to actually go well with me, but what i do write abt smiles?

Talk abt smiles the first thing comes to mind is that of my mom..mama always has nice dimples when she smiles; untouachable and up to the c..next smile comes of Delhi School girls..Now, they are in 10th standard near Okhla, some
pretty smiles to be seen, these are often seen in the golgopa chambers next comes the hyderbad girls; they are often to be seen in a crowded charminal market; very classical buying jewels; one of the features of the women are smiles- it's not ha ha ha..thoda sharmana and with a little coy and jhooki attitude scream aap ka naam hai behankoosh.

Usually, I grew in the hills, and than one fine day, when my eyes open to adulthood she was there.I still recall a windy summer not much to be seen and there
she was in a shalwar..I met her in Orkut and amongst all the smiles she beamed quite a torch; I think her name is Affreen and much to her name, she is enhachanted by all. I couldn't never express myself to her for she left me as usual

A smile radiates a sense of joy, makes things so meaningful and broke down the monontonus of a journey. You know with a smile you are always chanced upon to get something in life- she might say yes to you and you live happily after. what takes a women to smile? it isn't easy; i have seen hundreds of guys trying their level best to make a way to woman's hear- flowers, sweet talks, cards, emails etc..I am very poor in all this. My idea is to keep it very simple--never make it glorified; you wish her to smile right. Just have a talk to her and say how much it lights you up when she smiles. Respect her immensly and sknow how to give value for a women's smile

Next smile, she is currently in Jaipur and I have such a platonic relationship with her. My friend in Purple Haze; her smile is instanteous even when she cries, it feels she is smiling from within

It's interesting that a woman smiles logical or illogically you end up being the culprit if you make her cry. how many times have u heard this ///aaare rula dhi na meri beti ko..aare kuch bhi karo trust me, first thing a woman smiles for no particular reason ..

A typical indian girl smile

she will smile and you gotta know that the smile is for you to get in groove; don't question her why are u smiling? chances her that she will give you that DARK look which even the toughest of Himesh Reshammiya song won't make you gleeeeeeee secondly, over the phone..hi..he he, ahh, hmm get rid of these expressions..two thinsg she is pulling your legs on a first note, laugh with her smiles- it won't cost much..yes, i know its stupid..but just laugh..secondly,
move with the flow--she is interested and wants to be persuaded, you know there are quite a few things you need to do next.

just wrote a few lines..tell me if you can hows it:

Broken hearts never cease to beat
They don't bleed but uncontrollably weep
Memories of their beloved haunt
And their voices echo within the walls
None can ever hear their cry
That's muted behind those mysterious eyes

Lilac, someone who currently makes me belive the end is the beginning

Washed in Bangalore

There's an old saying, "mind the roads before you step". Here, in Bangalore each and every step that we take on these roads, there's something to add to the woes. Incessant rains have left Bangalore with severe jams, fluctuating power cuts and worst all accidents. The blame game has started with people accusin g BMP officials, who in turn point their fingers to hardcore politicans and it carries on.

I traveleld to electronics city five days a week and trust me its painful. almost 30 mins of journey has become 120 mins one and there's every chance it will become more worse in the days to come. I am confused as to why this 'Silicon Valley' tag has been atributed to Bangalore merely because it hubs majority of software companies. Infrasturcture wise, lemme tell you its poorest than Hyderabad and Chennai

Politicans do not worry abt it; all they are worried is abt their power and money
Those having vehicles will go against law and order in every sense

Just my random thoughts.......

ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIES

Here comes the top-ten list of movies of mine; I am not that die-hard Hollywood or Bollywood movies crawler, but friends are pushing me to announce so here goes. This movies have been watched by me over the years and somewhere down the lane I have tried to use them in my life; Please note this is not a review of the movie-it's just to tell you why I watch these movies over and over again.

1) PULP FICTION: What a classic movie from the chambers of cinema moghuls Quentin Tarantino. Everything of the movie- right from the characters' names- Marcellus Wallace, Vincent, Pitt to the cinematography stood out. The dialogue delivery was simple and easy to hold, but what sets it drastic appart is the way Tarantino makes simple dialogues like 'I solve problems', 'A please would be nice', "What kind burger is this?" "Ezekel" stands apart.
Critics opined that the stellar of PULP FICTION was Samuel Jackson, which I agree to an great extent. It would however, be an insult of I don't value the importance of a John Travolta or a Harvey Keitel, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis or Tarantino?

An interesting aspect was how Tarantino uses his music to cause an impact-scenario be it JACKIE BROWN, KILL BILL, RESERVOIR DOGS etc. I loved the song 'Girl! you'll be a woman someday'. PULP FICTION is such a classic that certain Australian university asked their students to write papers on it. I have watched it more than 20 times and I recommend you to watch-with a pinch of lemon, vodka, dry finger chips. say what again, i dare you, i double dare you motherfucker... say what one more goddamn time!

2)GOLMAAL- This is one of the finest Indian comedies that have hit the theatres. It came from the house of Hrishikesh Mukhherjee and as usual it had simple real-life chracters in Utpal Dutta, Amol palekar, Bindya Goswami, Dina Pathak etc. A story of double-identity to befool the boss and a series of sequences that follows to a never-been-seen climax makes it to the collector's gallery. The songs especially Aanne Waala Paal still ranks in the top of the charts.

3) GOODFELLAS- This is undoubtedly one of the best story-telling movies that has come from Hollwood. Nicholas Pileggi & Martin Scorsese screenplays are always a subject of interest and this 90's film based on the book WISEGUY had wonderful actors and an excellent script to bank upon.

Any kid born on the streets of Italy would say this is my story. The opening line whered Ray Liotta says SO FAR I REMEMBER I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A GANGSTER immediately takes you on hold. Added to the extra-bonanza were Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, Lorraine Bracco, and Paul Sorvino performances. Watch out for the classic scene, which is titled "HOW DO I LOOK FUNNY TO YOU?"

4)FORREST GUMP: I am sure much like me, folks feel Tom Hanks is a purist for he not only enacts the character of a physical challenged wonderfully, but he seems to challenge the normal human beings with a thought "Can we dare to compete like them?" It won an Oscar and undoubtedly one of the rare collections in my library.

There were certain instances in the movie that has remained with me and has played a part in my growing years; I always treasure this lines "MY MOM ALWAYS SAYS, LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOCLATES, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU WILL GET". To me it says, always be ready and competent enough to face the life's odd challenges and enjoy the moments that comes by. A must watch for everyone!

5) DIL CHAHTA HAI- Farhaan Akhtar changes the cinema-making with his trendy and classic debutant movie; it gave us Sid, Akaash and Sameer- three characters that were like "ah-we saw them somewhere" and it moved us so much that right from Aamir's Goatee to Akashaye's sketches, everything became a hit. It suddenly changed the cult of movie-making in Bollywood and ushered a season of uncoventional movies that seem to be somehow make a move in Bollywood. My personal favorite if you are watching it with your girl!

6) TAXI DRIVER-- He remains as one of the iconic of my growing years. Robert De Niro like Al Pachino has played some immortal characters and this character of Travis Bickle, a Marine who fought in the Vietnam War, is a distant and unstable young man of 26 from the Midwest. As a chronic insomniac, he becomes a nighttime taxi driver in New York City.Travis spends his restless days in seedy porn theaters and driving around Manhattan. The film was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 best films of all time. Watch out De Niro, Jodie Foster etc.

7) AMERICAN BEAUTY- Another classic movie that didn't get released in India. Reasons, unknown or for some sexual explicit content. This movie is very close to mine for two obvious reasons- one was obviously Mina Suvari and the second it reminded me of my ex-girl.

I still remember it watching it with my ex-girl, and when we just walked out she looked at me and said, "Would you still love me if I were dead?" I could realise how much relationships meant to her, and this Sam Mendes movie did more wonders than possibly ever could imagine. We broke up but I still feel some relationships are hold in the sweet chambers of heart and treasured always. Kevin Spacey, Annette Bening, Thora Birch,Wes Bentley and Mena Suvari makes the movie to get into the classic room. Kevin Spacey won the Oscar and I salute the entire group for its stellar performances!

8) SCENT OF A WOMAN- The man who comes next to Robert De Niro in acting is Al Pacino. Right from the GODFATHER days, Al has always enacted each and every character with such perfection and class, that it is tough for me to single out the best AL Pacino movie, but I would say this movie comes very close.

A 1992 classic. which tells the story of a preparatory school student who takes a job as an assistant to an irascible blind, medically retired Army officer. It stars Al Pacino, Chris O'Donnell, James Rebhorn, Gabrielle Anwar, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The climax in which Al gives a speech is considered in the management books as the very best. Also, doesn't ever miss out to watch out his Tango. Interestingly, after the making of the movie, when Chris O' Donnel asked Al about what he had to say on his performance, Al wrote a short note saying that he didnt even notice him Chris O'Donnel in the movie. Now, that just proves his Pacino's dedication to the character. Also, we got one of the immortal signature tune--HU HA HU HA

9) ANAND: How many of you have wached Tapan Sinha's classic BAWARCHI? Robi's It's just touching to watch Rajesh Khanna trying to enact a Robi Ghosh role in ANAND; Babusmoshai and his Amitabh's performance-unbelieveage. What I learnt-- don't be scared of death, smile and death will look wonderful to you.

10) DEEWAR- This is one of Mr. Bachchan's movies that I chose to keep it ahead of SHOLAY and AGNEEPATH only becuase of i felt its screenplay by Javed Akhtar was the best of the lots. Amitabh fights and gives his career-0riented performance as an angry young man who never goes to the temple, bows only before his mother and who says "aaj bhi pheke paisa nahin uithata"

On Road for a Railway Ticket

The day started with a kick off to my Final semester MBA classess, but before proceeding to the classes, I went to the Koramangala BDA Complex to book my railway tickets from Bangalore to Chennai for 5th October night. A couple of interesting things happened that made me to compose this note

1) It was a dry queue with hardly 5-7 people to get tickets. Makes me wonder how technology has contributed to mankind. E-Commerce has really strengthed in the years and websites like IRCTC & Indian Railways have taken more than 50 percent of the consumers in hold. fantastic!

2) On paying the required amount, the official told me to give change for 25 rs. Now, this is a situation wherein I had to go eat ravad idly and pay the change to get back the tickets. Can we have a change system wherein an automated machine pays the change or give the required money. Or say, something the Ticket offices write on the back of the ticket so that the credit or debit amount can be charged by the TT during journey. This unnecessary saves a lot of harassment

3) Professor Appan took a fantastic ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) class today as part of our Final Semester specialized course. He spoke about the ERP benefits and specially mentioned how there is a dearth in the specialization in HR on ERP. I realy wish to know more on it. Btw, MBA is a fantastic programme; folks who are planning to do it: do a full-fledged programme, it's worth!

4) Finally, I tasted the Chicken Biryani with Gongura Achar; spoke to mama over the phone.

That's all!

EMBRACING THE BRACES

EMBRACING THE BRACES

Fellow Neighbours,

This profile comes from the locales of Javacity, Koramangala.

I never thought I'd say this, but I am all grown up. At a declaration meet recently, someone
over the coffee table looked at me and asked,"don't you Orkut?" I painstakingly responded naa..it's waste of time to which she gave me a pitying look usually reserved for endangered creatures.

It's a different story although that within next few days, my entire routine had turned topsy-turvy, but hell! who cares- writers are always perceived to be those nonsense fellas with grin on their faces. Just ask any fellow software developer and get ready for some amazing comments. As for the lady, well she chose to go out for me a date, which lasted only for 10 minutes. But before she went out with her BF, I was made aware of Shakira's Hips, Liposuction creativity, blah blah..

I searched again- this time a Coffee day waitress (studies in Christ College)- I thought God! Cappucino would really taste well this time. Well, early Sunday morning we were in Thomas Chruch- the lady prayed (I was praying with two hands folded), and she looked at me and uttered those golden words, "I'm engaged". I looked into the yonder sky..couldn't see God. Much like that cloudy sky, I too felt my life had engulfed in dark clouds.

And then this writer walked in; she made me believe that I needed to smile more and talk less. Why? For she does that job so well. Bunny, as I fondly call her gave
me an Appam treat and also a lesson in punctuality. I decided that here's someone who had a thought for every topic and holla! a guy like me bowed down and said "Thy care to be respected lady". She is one of the best friends I have till date, and we both are pleasantly surprised by that.

And the seasons rolls on..the last time I went out with a girl from Orkut, we landed up in Amoeba. The good part is this Balwdins chick has become my Bowling partner, and
ya! when she rolls that ball, I am too rolled or bowled over.

Thanks guys for being a part of my life! I enjoyed each and every second of this Orkutting phase.

Thanks Mr.Bernokutten! Is he a Turkish or a Malyalee? A big round of applause for you conceiving this stuff.

But just like every good thing, this too ends here. I need
to get hold on my career! But girls, guruji is always there to help. You can find me on weeknights at Brewhaha, Koramangala (Near JNC) somewhere between 8-10.

Adios pals!

Guruji

It’s been sometimes now that I have been provided a room in Orkut, and my neighbours (70 and still counting) have been excellent in all fronts. Be it the girl from Christ College, Bangalore or a Technical Writer from Mumbai, my neighbors have been co-operative in all fronts.

Harddone the scraps have been sometimes very sweet, though a few people have blasted me for my photogenic snaps. I also had the fortune to meetup with some of my neighbors who have been touchwood very sweet. The only drawback after meeting them is that I’ve become little diabetic to say, notforgetting the ooom taste of Appam,Arabian Chicken and what not!...Thanks all!

Testimonials have been written, and I seriously thank each one of you including those of non-testimourners. I am now aware of my latent qualities..

I joined a few communities, which have become so overcrowded these days with questions pouring like ‘would u date me?’ 'how would u rate the profile?'…I sense, we have quite a few writers, painters who have demonstrated their skills and created new norms of art. They are likely to get Nobel Prize soon.

Well if that’s not enough, sometimes Orkut has treated me very badly. Often, at times, my password has been hacked only to discover my neighbours were playing hide and seek with me..
All said and done, and as I doze the ball in Orkut’s court, I respect each and everyone who has visited my profile. Please don’t hesitate to drop a line or two. I am sure there are enough nice words in the dictionary to use.. You can ping me on Yahoo. I am available as potatobuck…I will respond to you if my company lifts out the ban on Orkut.

Wel, all the best to all of you! Happy Surfing and remember that anytime you wish to see your hands get colored, Matrimonial Guruji or Raj or Jersy is always there.

A poem on Love! He He

I wrote this crap when I was dating this chick from Shillong; she did care for me ..now a homemaker with two kids..I just thought I'ld scribble here so that some relationships are always remembered.
Thanks for a wonderful time Carol! See you in next birth..Muaaaah! ouch, I still make sounds..na na braces,...

How much I love you I can't say,
It's more than words can hold...
You're all at once my rich, red clay, My potter and my mold...
Yours the words that shaped my voice, The spirit within mine...
Yours the will that shaped my choice, My fortune, and my sign...
How lucky I was to have had you At the core of me!
Wise and good, you always knew Just what I could be?
And so I came to be someone Whom I could be proud of...
For this I give my swollen sum Of gratitude and love...

Suit up to kill chicks

Never thought I'd say this, but I am all grown up! Well the day has come, my friends. The day has come.

I've said it in this space before: Any man serious about the art of consistent romance needs to comprehend the following truism: Chicks love suits. Don't believe me? Visit any fine tailor or vendor of serious menswear and who do you find standing outside, all pressed up and panting against the glass? Chicks, that's who. Staring in, straining to catch a glimpse of your sophisticated virility. You know it, I know it, chicks know it, and finally your date knows it. Hopefully, technical writers know it too.

Count your chickens before you party!

(Readers note: The content reflects a 26 year old guy's mental trauma and has nothing to do with society at large. The writer is a well known potato in some industry, which are filled with people shouting and howling at each other; some profession pays for it.The reader is doing well presently and is on medication at large. Last seen at Opus. He has taken refuge for 2 years at the bar.

Alright first things first, take a bow before the lord almighty because what are you going to read at this section has nothing to do with God but everything to do with wordly things.

We all know Valentines Day's is an enormous, steaming pile of disappointment. A full year's worth of failed expectations and fizzled dreams wiped clear to make room for 365 more days of failed expectations and fizzled dreams.

This year? New strategy: party; I mean, parties are reflection of each individuals way of celebration. It is an occasion where he or she lets the world aware of their composition, hugging, dancing and communication skills and above all their all important DRINKING skills. Shucks! Raj, you gotta be kidding. "You aren't going to give gyaan on parties", screamed my colleague Neha. "You moron, I asked you thrice and all the time, you were out by the first dose", says Carol. Understandbly, this girls are correct. I mean I can't win against this 'Saturday Night Fever' and never make them understand. However, I will tip you on some secrets to party on a Valentines eve. (The comments do not reflect society as a whole but the mere status of Raj)

Total number of trips to the bathroom(monitored by toilet-flush count)

Number of Mallika Sherwat jokes attempted

Number of times you said "I love you' to her

Lots of Iodex, spill beans and cashew nuts

Guests to seat ratio (the floor does count)

Total beers consumed(bottle count)

Total attempts to hug and kiss (never allow sexual intimacy in house)Its a NO-NO for vegetarians!

No water in the house

Try to borrow the Moon for an evening; maybe, that's the last time you guys are viewing the moon together.

Flatter her/him with your comments (be honest sometimes)..Hey where's your friend Sharon, never seen her arms again? Stop kidding Raj, don't tell me you have a GF? she will run away for sure..well she did.. I swear..I did run like Tom Hanks did for Leonardo Di Caprio in Catch Me If You Can...if at any other level, I'ld have got India its first medal in 100 meters race.. anyway in my case, it was CATCH ME IF YOU HAVE MONEY...sorry, I don't have..that's one reason, girls don't date me after first evening.

Use some opening lines to strike to strangers. How about watching a female technical writer sipping coke and asking her "allow me to make it sweet"?...yaak! I know ....

Never force on her to drink. (Be a genteleman!) Haven't you read the great matrimonial guruji? He says "come one, come all! but never force anyone!)

Always drop her back home. Be a gentelman. You don't have a vehicle like me. Take it from your friend or if you wanna be a lil romantic, ask her if you can take her in your arms and drop her? Yaak, what's happening to you DUDE? I ain't carring a 65kg trolley.. But I do pay road tax?

all said and fine, guys have a great Valentines eve. Love and be loved, but most important ask yourself if you guys have all important but LOVE between each.

-Guruji on the other street

My take on GURU

Come Feb’ when Abhishek flaunts Aishwarya with a garland, we might just have a déjà vu. Mani Ratnam’s Guru is an epitome of Indian Cinema coming of ages, and I know Faran Akhtar and Ashutosh Gowarikher have seconded that. Mani Ratnam has done a fantastic job of bringing dreams to a middle-class household and asking one to reach for it. The only thing that he asks you is have confidence and a belief in yourself. It was that belief which made Rakesh Mehra made Rang De Basanti and it scored and certainly Guru is an icing on the cake. Gurukanth Desai (Abhishek Bachchan) runs helter-shelter in Istanbul selling petrol bumps neglecting his father’s advice to pursue higher education in the village. Guru grows up with prosperity and wealth often ballying with Mallika Sherawat but for a not a single moment he shields away from his dream- to make India marked in the global map. Rejecting a promotion he travels back to his village where his dad fancies his idea of starting a business. Guru confides with his friend Aryan Babar and marries Aishwarya for a dowry. Next is the episode of how Guru makes it to the global map, sets up his SHAKTI Empire, accusations and how he braves all this.

Though people are showering accolades on Abhishek Bachchan’s performance, realm is this guy was a prospect from the day1. He had a good start in Refugee but did some blunders in TERA JADOO CHAL GAYA and all..but what a character he has portrayed in GURU. Full marks to Mani Ratnam for utilizing the potentials of Abhishek as Lallan in YUVA and now as Guru. Mani has centered on Abhishek’s posture and his eyes in the movie. If akshaye kumar could be the nation’s hero for his delightful laughter in JAANEMAN, Gurukant desai’s smile too is matchable. Ash is pefect and matches well in her role. Mithun Da gives a power packed performance and added to that Madhavan’s fight with Abhishek. Vidya Balan does a good job and shares a great chemistry with Madhavan. If Dhoom pictured Hrithik-ash smooch, Vidya and Madhavan too had a spontaneous smooch. Full marks to the talented Rajiv Menon for brilliant camerawork. Rahman’s music is top-notch.

The movie will be remembered for Abhishek’s stupendous performances. His interactions with the people; the cunningness of the business trades he employs; his romantic liaison with Ash; softness for Vidya Balan; his break-up amidst the people and a delightful speech in the courtroom. Guru promises, delivers and ushers a season of hope for future entrepreneurs. It justifies that business is not a mushy path rather filled with thorns. But someone who believes that he can bed both roses and thorns is only going to be successful. It teaches- Dream Big and believes that you can achieve. Salute to such crafted movie!

Prey on a hunt!

It has much to do with our society at large. Questions and introspection have been over and over again made no sooner we get another minor being raped. The girl who was the victim of a police constable Sunil more is in a state of coma. What happened on that night would be frail to assume what is transpired for the girlýs future. Shamefully, India accounts as one of the leading country for rapes per year. Does it ring an alarming bell that our girls and women are unsafe? If it does also, the shameful incident by a cop does raise fingers to our law. If the law protectors become law- breakers, then whom are we to commute our worries?

Ha, itýs all because the girls wear indecent dresses, says my fellow friend. As software professional he finds his colleagues wearing outrageous dresses and are blind to the comments made by people. They believe being democratic citizens of a republic they have every right to wear and do anything. Well, honestly speaking this carefree attitude does let you fall in mud slinging sometimes.

But, are not Indian women being subjected to humiliation every night? Ask my fellow lawyer friend in Bangalore
And he points out an interesting link. He says most of the women filing divorce cases points out to them they have been forced to have sex during the marital period, and then to know the guy as your husband is a disgusting thing. Our constitution has clearly stated that any sort of force being thursted during sex is termed as Rape. Almost 1 out of 10 housewives have complained that their husbands have raped them. How do you explain this now?

To me media is partly responsible for the crime on women in cities of India. Just the other day, I switched on the television and happened to see a female model for a gutkha advertisement; how on earth do you explain that? Itýs one of the areas where everyone need to focus; every girl wants to wear the best outfits in town, but does it crosses the moral of obscenity is the all important question?

Myths and Mis-conceptions

'Green City', 'Refresh Bangalore', 'IT Education'- what's common to them? Interestingly, these so called adjective wonders are very much in the front page of our Daily Newspapers today. I usually travel in company bus and carry along TOI. It's a sheer enjoyment to read an early morning newspaper-fresh, vigorant, new ideas, sports and above all job advertisements. If this do not appeal, than hop along a ride with me towards Hosur Road and you might have some beautiful things to say about a newspaper. In this piece of blog, I've tried to analyze as what are the things that make Bangalore Greener and how are the newspapers serving this need.

I guess the so called 'bureaucrats' of Bangalore had a meeting with citizens the other day. Sparkling ideas, suggestions and promises (mainly by the honourable CM)decorated the podium. Suggestions to improvise the education sector in Bangalore with umpteenth number of schools imparting English eductaion was made. The CM made a promise that almost 100 schools were going to be opened in Bangalore providing english education.

Next came the hygene factor, with someone making the assumption that Bangalore should be litter-free; ah! some people heard liquor-free! Parks and public galleries are to be maintained with proper dustbins and no sanitary hassles. So much said, yet the people lack basic habit of dumping their waste in a dustbin. Lalbagh Botancial Gardens have lost its historical significance and has become the den of Romeo-n-Juliet. No harm in that but chances of it turning into a vulgar zone, as seen in the recent past is there.

Road usage comes to picture next. The Government is planning to have a toll-fee taken on vehicles for certain roads. It is believed that the traffic congensation would be diminished considerably if this act comes to force. We will wait and see!

The most memorable moment of my life

Sometimes things which are anticipated and wished to be fullfilled at the corner of your heart happens, you are just startled. The first reaction that comes is "is it real?" and "oh! my God!! am I seeing the person in front of me?" I do not have a fancy habit of shitting in front of the public or an over reacted emotion. But I was apprehensive of the fact that certain actions are spontaneous and they come form within.Meeting the my IDOL was one such occasion and I still cherish that moment!

As I slowly treaded across the green lawns of infosys, I was startled to see a man in a blue chiffon shirt and a black pant. I quickly adjusted my tie, gave a quick glance at my watch and greeted me " Morning SIR! The man gave a quick glance, took his hands out of the pocket and shook hands..Both our hands were locked and he smilingly responded "Young Man, Hows work going?" I stuttered for a while and quickly responded, "Fine, sir". He quickly left..

Oh! there were so many questions that I wanted to ask Mr.Narayan Murthy; questions that have always been accumulated but never popped out of mind; I wish I had some more time to be with this great achiever.Infact, I had expected him this to happen but at the very start of my career, didn't thought.

Sweet Dreams are made of those and this moment will surely signal out the best of the lots!

A night to cheerish!!!

Though I reckon myself to be a first-rate dude, something which is very easy on my part to put on, I don't find myself comfy in the shades of people. I tend to become a little introvert than but when you have a bevvy of beautiful girls with you, I am freezed with cold...Such anticipation to make most of the situation--na don't get stumped here..I am just trying to make a point--how important it is to outshine yourself when it comes to the girls. I have never been a run after girl type and my issue has always been that I expect a woman giving me as much attention as figuring her dress for the ALL IMPORTANT FRIDAY PARTY.

Corporate culture has sometimes left me choked. I really can't figure out why people throw rave parties and then dash out cash only to make them feel that an 'INCH' higher..But, then they are thrown and you gotta put a mask and pretend that you are enjoying the show. No harm in that, but these days everyone wears a mask..
Alright, then let's get on the track. We at Infosys had our UX3 outing at Tuscan Verve and believe me it rocked.

I had a great time amidst the cacophony of girls (each trying to depict a Sharon Stone) and guys proving themselves to be first-rate drunkards (We literally won it!!!). The girls gave us a very tough fight both in drinks and in dance and they won it..easily!!! By the way, when it comes to dance, yours truly is a ROCKER..something or sorry! someone called Sunny Deol would find tough to battle it out.Let's not get into the shoes of Dancing!!!

I remember the post-drive that we had and the horrendous HSR Layout..ANYWAY, My first Infy wasn't bad..made some friends and got some numbers to keep floating..Sometimes, being a SINGLE status always helps!

Kabhie Xora Kabhie Kuch Aur!!!

LEAVING XORA FOR GREENER PASTURES....

Tiny drops of water makes a mighty ocean...how true! I am pondering over it while sitting at my cubicle which has resisted me more than 2 years now. It is in this context that I chose to start of the topic with the above lines. I am moving to pastures that expectedly would be much greener and wealthier..This being my last day at Xora (name of the existing company), I've decided to share some experiencs.

I am not a real job-hopper, so in case you're wondering if I make myself available for every job interview, it would be wrong. My tryst with job-hunting has always been fascinating with much of the time being wooed or booed rather by the HRs. But, hang on those pretty HRs with a 24x7 smile surely have a job to do; mind you, recruiting me isn't an easy job. I was thinking of switching over to Technical Writing when I received a call from an HR of Xora. I was asked to attend the interview sharp at 10:30 hours, and I still remember doing a last minute change to my resume.

The job location was Indiranagar and after an initial written test that tested my english grammar and html skills, a technical interview was taken. After the interview was taken, I was asked to come the following day and meet the MD. I was prompt in clearing the test and on June 9, 2004 I was given the appointment letter.

I had some very good and some horrible Xora experiences--woh Karan Johar kehta hai naa "Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham". Let's keep the good things for later purposes...

Firstly, I had this quarrel with the man who thinks he knows all 'under the sun'. I am not really sure that if this BOSSY character is going to stay like this forever. Secondly, occasional verbal fights with my Manager left me strong. But he's a real nice guy; its just that I am bad. Thirdly, some guys robbed my money and all on my way back home. Fourthly, a chauvinist of every sort who made my life miserable with his TIME MANAGEMENt

Right Here, Bite Now with a Kutty!

I remember Salman in the days when he could identify something called 'shirts' made a statement "Dosti Kiya Hai to Nibhana To Padega Hi". Ashraf has visulized and incorporated that statement in his first proposal.

Post=proposal--Do you want me to say "I LOVE U' in Urdu?

Let's get naughty Kutty!

To catch a Fly!!!

It’s a city of dreams- dreams, which are of paramount and weird. Bangalore also dreams: dream to catapult itself in Singapore’s identity, but don’t one sense danger too! The recent months have witnessed an increase in the rate of Sexual misdemeanors in India. Be it two school kids or an old man preying over his daughter-like-renters, its certain Voyeurism has come taken a new fold in India. Though Bangalore hasn’t been still glorified by its existence, but can you be sure that there are no Spy Cameras hovering around? Is Voyeurism here to stay or are we late in realizing its existence? Even as I write the article, I can sense something wrong happening somewhere. Are women really safe or have privacy of women under threat?

How do you define Voyeurism? Well, secret act of viewing others in sexual situations involving erotic play and taking the pictures without the consent of the others is what we can say for now. A person who has this peeping eye is called a Voyer. It would have been an easy task had we some tool for identifying a voyer. Interestingly voyer is not a hidden person. They are ordinary persons whom we encounter in day-to-day life. Often people suffer from the notion that Voyeurs are a class sitting in some cyber cafes or sexually perverted minds but these are wrong.

Consider the real-life scene. A woman in a crowded bus and manages to get a seat. A man of middle age goes near to the ladies seat though there are enough spaces in the bus to stand. He gradually puts her body over her or there’s an attempt to touch her. The woman noticed that but hardly can do anything. The writer happened to witness these scenes but was helpless since my fellow passenger thought it was pretty common. I could sense the amount of harassment that poor school and college girls have to undergo everyday at every point of the time. It’s pretty easy to write the stuffs sitting in an air-conditioned room. Let’s if we can analyze for sometime why do we have so much voyerous?

Education would be the topmost priority to begin with. Over half of the population remains desolated from literacy. Add to that they are introduced to all C grade movies at an early age. Things take a strange turn as they take their expeditions to youth. It’s tough to single out education to be the only cause of mockery for education in turn brings out latest technologies and technologies have harbored sexual fantasizes.

The first thing that generally crossed my mind when I heard the word ‘Internet’ was Sex. Yes! And I am not shy to admit that these have been quite an unusual experience for the first few months. I am much more wiser now and the Voyeurism in me has shielded quite a lot. But still am amused with the way things are shaping up these days. Every day you take up the paper or view the Television you have some sex-scandal or the other. Often the technology has been blamed for these actions, but my query is we not the guys behind this voyeurism or has voyeurism lead to technology.

Turing over a new leaf!!!

Ah here it goes again, you wont learn from your mistake. Right from day one this has been quite a common statement from my Manager to me. I have been blasted on many occasions for documentation. My manager’s review carried strings of comments (wide range and colourful!) and many of them pointing: I am unable to explain the message in a simple and concise manner. Now, initially I was reluctant to explore the mudholes, but finally when one day I had a look into my document and found out- it clearly lacked a simple approach. My redundancy to acquire the basics KISS has never been easy since I was simultaneously doing content writing.

Typically, when you are documenting something you need to keep your target audience in mind; your writing varies according to the audience. Obviously, the documentation your message will be bit different

TO be a Virgin or NOT!

"Virginity can be lost by a thought", is the possible explanation to my conclusion. It all started when Adam decided to obey what Eve said. The event didn't only trigger the henpecked era but also led to the civilization.

Questions are raised why did Eve did it? Was she married? Well we all doubt. She was a virgin who collapsed the gates because she couldn't stand guarding it.

Times changed. When the films of 'American Pie', 'Road Run' and 'Forty Days and Forty Nights' used to hit the stands, I used to sneak somehow to get two tickets and make into the hall with my girlfriend clasping her hand. And I felt great because we were not married and she was a virgin.

Once during a college fest I had met a beautiful American blonde and during our tête-à-tête I asked whether she prefers virginity or not and she said "it's a wonderful way of getting popular in school". I guess a clue had been taken from that by the youth in Bangalore.

I agree its quite hard for a teenager to be virgin but then keeping your virginity until you reach a mature stage and knowing the ifs and bits of birth control, and possible STD is important.

My girlfriend used to get wild sometimes, she wants me to pamper her but I am firm that if she is going to have it then it's only after marriage.

Am I harsh to her, or she doubts by manhood? That's a thing of ignominy. But whether she knows herself well enough that is the all important question.

The girl, whom I am going to date in future is probably going to be my wife. What are the things I require from her? Love, care, and most important 100 per cent trust.

Its all case of trust when it comes to live with a girl, if she had a pre-marital sex, she should be bold enough to dispose the matter to me, the same case holds for me too.

I may sound too vague but I don't understand the concept of casual sex. For me there has to be some emotion involved when I am going to sleep with someone.

And that emotion can only come when the particular person has rapport with me and I believe getting married for sex is" like buying 747 for free peanuts."

Men in general are better than women to talk to, I see I can talk to a man more than a women. Most of my friends believe that I am very conservative in my outlook.

That a girl clamors for sex and the ‘TDH’ (Tall, dark & Handsome) factor works, but to me marriage is an institution, the more compassion there, the more investment you do in it, the more valuable it becomes.

I would never want myself to be confronted in a situation where my wife come to make a statement that she resorted to pre-marital sex earlier and now she has problems.

I don't like myself to be the lover who said that he would go hell for her and now married he is undergoing hell.

This is the worst case think in a socialite party when someone tells you that your wife had been in his bed earlier that would make the situation really grim.

I don't curse women for pre-marital sex but in future there should be no excuse. If a man thinks that by love and compassion it would be quite reachable to solve the matter, then its ok.

But I am of the notion that I want someone whose true to me in her words .I think man who have pierced ear are better prepared for marriage and I am one since I have experienced pain and brought jewellery too.

I don't know what fate has stored for me but definitely yes! I will go by the lines as I frequently tell it my girl, "when a man holds a women hand before marriage its love, after marriage it is self-defense."

And who would not like to be protected by a virgin, after all Mother Mary was a virgin too.
